atleast she didn't make fun of her dead dad...

Now i haven't blogged about Nicaragua this season just because i've been kinda busy. not that i don't find the show interesting.. because i do! its one of the best seasons.. i just haven't blogged but after the hype surrounding last nights episode being built up to be an "epic fight" and turning out as an "epic letdown" i thought i'd share my opinions on this one...

"Survivor fans! Ep 3 tonight. Don't miss one of the meanest things I've seen on our show" -- Jeff Probst tweet.

before i get into it tho i wanna touch on Shannon from last week since i didn't blog. shut the hell up! i've read article and article and fan opinions out the wazoo how he's a close minded idiot & a sexist. No, he's not. He's a reality show contestant and a damn good one at that! He didn't bash gays. Didn't say anything negative about gays. & to say NYC has more gays than Louisiana.. anyone who has been to both places would definitely agree with that statement. Get over it.

Now to Na Onka.. aside from Jimmy T & Marty's jealousy of Jimmy J & Jill's pure ignorance there's nothing really else to discuss about this episode so I'll spare you the rest of the details.. if you missed it go to www.cbs.com and catch up..

If i wanted to watch people sing Kumbaya and hear people talk about the weather i'd go re-watch Marquesas (but that probably wouldn't be such a bad idea.. maybe i'd get a feel as to why people think Boston Rob is so great.. i still haven't seen it after 3 seasons).. I don't tune in to watch these women on Survivor braid their hair (although that bathing scene with Jenna, Heidi & Shawna in Season 6 wasn't that disappointing) I wanna see people come to play and speak their mind. I wanna see people go from a target on day one to a finalist on day 39! whether or not they actually win, i don't give a shit (as long as it isn't a wasted win like seasons 19&20) There are three types of villains in this game. A mean villain (Corinne & Randy..) A funny villain (Courtney & Tyson..) A strategic villain (Parvati & Russell) I think Na Onka is a mix of all three. She's funny as shit! HILARIOUS! She's meaner 'n a rattlesnake! & She's strategic. Lets not get carried away and forget it was her who got Shannon out. It was her who pulled in Brenda. She made herself a part of that alliance. Sash wasn't gonna do shit to put his plan into action so she took it upon herself and now she's in a 5 person alliance. I think people consider her to be such a bitch because her target is a handicap girl.

This episode was built up to be this "epic battle" "one for the history books" "the meanest thing"... I would say Parvati using both idols & neither on her. I'd say Russell finding 3726345322 idols & convincing a former winner who obviously knows the game to give his up.. those are for the history books. I'd say lying about your grandma is a contender for the meanest thing, oh or i don't know how about telling someone to take a bottle of anti depressants because you're sick of hearing them talk about their dead father, thats pretty mean. I don't think this episode had any of that. This episode had a villain do what she could to get a hidden immunity idol clue & it just so happened the girl she got it from has an artificial leg. This is Survivor not a charity case! I think people are forgetting that.

Kelly B knew coming into survivor she only had one leg. Casting knew that when they put her on the show. It was said on day one TO HER FACE from Tyrone that no, he would not take pity on her or treat her any differently. He was there to win and quite frankly if anyone else isn't they should have never been cast in the first place. A clue to an immunity idol could be the difference in going home and winning it all. I don't care if you have one leg or 14 legs if you try to stand in my way i'll knock your ass down too to get it!

I'm Team Na Onka all the way!! I love a good villain but to act like she's mouthier than Sandra or wittier than Courtney & Tyson, meaner than Fairplay or Corinne.. you're bat shit crazy and need to go brush up on your Survivor history. She's a villain, yes. She's playing a game for a million dollars with people she's known less than 2 weeks. She's not gonna (and neither would i) buckle down and say "oh poor thing, you got one leg, here's you a million dollar check" & that my friends, is high quality entertainment that i like to tune in for & thats why Survivor is the longest running reality show on TV today.

*now to touch on Boston Rob.. i think he's horrible. he was a pre jury boot in Marquesas which is the ONLY reason he lasted as long as he did in All Stars (all the best were out early) he got eaten alive in Heroes vs Villains (because he has no strategy! he outwitted Shii Ann, Alicia & Big Tom WOOPITY DOO!) i hear a rumor he'll be on the next season.. i'm taking bids now on how long he'll last.. whataya'll think?

Battle of the Ages

So in T minus 2 hours is the Survivor Nicaraugua premiere and although I'm a little late this year I typically like to judge the castaways and pick a favorite prior to the show beginning... 9 times outta 10 my opinion changes 4723762651 times before the finale.. but hey, its my opinion and this is my blog so i'm allowed to do that. So sit back and enjoy.. my (early/pre show) favorites, my predictions for a first out.. and winner..

So after reading a few bios, watching a few videos & the TV Guide preview I'm definitely rooting for the younger tribe (La Flor) mainly just because this older cast looks like a hot mess. I'm looking for a Palau repeat this season. I just don't see these older guys (espada) being able to pull out a win. Some of them seem pretty interesting. Jane, Jimmy J, Yve & Dan are definitely stand outs to me based on whats available on CBS.com Marty, Jimmy T, Wendy & Tyrone are gonna get on my nerves. I predict all four of them to be early boots. -- but more on that later --- Then there's Holly Hoffman. Holly seems like she'll be a bit blah. I've talked to her briefly and she seems pretty entertaining in her everyday life.. and she loves Teddy Grahams but she's the wife of a red state politician so I predict her laying kinda low and not really putting any kind of negative attention him.. after all this is just a television show and she'll have a life afterward and we know how those wealthy red staters can be... Jimmy Johnson will be fun to watch. Mainly just to see him try and survive without a comb. He states its gonna be difficult without the neccessities in everyday life.. like beer. I wish Sandy from Tocantins would have been on this cast. Very few older contestants in the past i've liked (Sandy .. and Jan from Thailand being about the extent of it) but this cast is full of them.. throw those two in this mix and I woulda been in reality show heaven.

Now to the younger tribe. Now normally i'm not a fan of recruits. I think they are boring. & it happens all the time on reality shows, that other CBS show with the houseguests.. is the worst... just because they're your friend and they ask to be on a show doesn't mean you should always say yes! you listening casting directors!? YOUR FRIENDS ARE BORING!.. but thats not always the case with Survivor.. I wish I was friends with Jaime or Boo. From the Amazing Race to Survivor both have had their friends on the show.. and this year is no different. Both Shannon & Chase are friends of the two! Both of which have pretty interesting bios. I like them both. We'll see how they do. Jeff Probst praised Chase and said he was his favorite. He seems like a pretty cool guy. I mean he's friends with Jaime.. who was pretty hilarious in China.. He's also close with Mika & Canaan from TAR15.. that water slide moment was pretty fun to watch... so maybe just maybe.. fun & entertaining people who bring us water cooler moments hang out with other fun & entertaining people who will also bring us water cooler moments. Not to mention he's on the younger, more atheletic tribe & he seems to be a nice tough guy who will fit in pretty well with othe guys & the ladies.. I think he'll go far. "Benry" is a club promoter from LA & Jeff describes him as a male version of Parvati... i'm not sure if that means he's gay or what? but he did used to date Heidi Montag's sister so he's definitely gonna be a big ol' bag of douche.. but when it comes to reality tv a big ol' bag of douche never hurt anyone.. especially a viewer at home like myself! I'll be rooting for him as well. Kelly S. says being homecoming queen & captain of the cheerleading squad will help her out on Survivor... I think what she means is it will help her get voted out on Survivor. She's going to get on my nerves. The young girl this season that captures my heart is Brenda.
She's a business owner, she seems strong, & she looks good in a bikini.. Now i don't think there's any skills you can apply to owning your own business to helping you succeed in the wild but she's independent. Men love a good independent woman. Especially if she's good looking. She doesn't appear to be weak or stupid. She looks great in a bikini.. she'll fit in just fine. She'll go far.
for the complete cast go to http://www.cbs.com/ or tune in tonight at 8 est.
Now for my predictions..
If the Espada tribe loses first (which i think they will) Jimmy Johnson has fame. He has money. He's one of the oldest people on the tribe so I don't expect him to make it far in this game... but the obvious choice is never the first boot. I think he's safe. Holly, like i said, she seems bland. If she was on the younger tribe she should be worried, but she's with the old bags so she'll do fine.. plus i read an interview where she said she plans on watching one episode at home and one with each of her kids in 3 different cities.. why would you want to gather the family to watch an episode you aren't on.. i predict she's the last standing of the old... which means early juror. I think Jimmy T & Wendy are first on the chopping block if they go to tribal tonight.
If La Flor is the ones at tribal I think its obvious to say Kelly B is safe. Noone is gonna get rid of the chick with one leg right off the bat. Its just morally wrong. She'll be fine. Sash is walking that thin line between annoying & entertaining.. for a viewer like me he'll be entertaining.. for a tribemate i think he'll be annoying. Alina commented that she'll flirt her way to the end.. with a woman like Brenda & a bimbo like Kelly S.. ones the girl you take home to mom, ones the girl you take to the backseat.. i can assure you noone will be looking at you, Alina. Then there's NaOnka. i won't like her. Black women on Survivor annoy the shit outta me. I swear I'm not racist but they just fit their stereotype. I can't help it. They're either ghetto/diva/or both.. and i think NaOnka will be both. I predict Alina, NaOnka or or Sash to be the first to go.
My predictions for a winner:
As i touched on.. i see Holly making the jury. She'll finish at a forgettable 9th or somewhere around there. I predict Yve & Jill finishing somewhere close by. Kelly B, Jud & Shannon will rank mid jury as well. I see Brenda, Chase & Benry making it to the end this season..
your thoughts?
